The Dallas Wings have been eliminated from the WNBA playoff race. With a forgettable showing on the court, all they can do now is prepare for the next season. However, the team will still have to play the remainder of the games they have on their hands. However, injuries are further depleting their roster and heavily denting their hopes of a strong finish. Adding to their already long injury list, JJ Quinerly is now out for the season.
One of the major factors in the Wings’ on-court lapses has been their inability to field a full team. The team has already lost Arike Ogunbowale, who is out with knee tendinitis. Next up was Li Yueru, who got an ACL sprain and bowed out of the season. Now that Quinerly has joined the list, the outlook looks extremely gloomy for the Wings.
Dallas Wings Comes Up With A Grim Update About JJ Quinerly
In a recent update on X, formerly known as Twitter, the official Dallas Wings account confirmed that Quinerly will not play anymore this season. They listed her as injured while citing a right knee ACL sprain as the reason. The post also detailed that the rookie guard suffered the injury when the Wings took on the Los Angeles Sparks back on August 20.

“Dallas Wings guard JJ Quinerly will miss the remainder of the 2025 season due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) sprain in her left knee. Quinerly sustained the injury in the Los Angeles Sparks game on Aug. 20,” read the post.

Surely, while this was quite a grim update, there was one thing that the fans could take heart from. Wings revealed that although Quinerly will not be playing this season, she will be making a full recovery and will be available for the 2026 season. Till now, the rookie has averaged 6.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game to prove her potential as a star in the long run. Meanwhile, with the Wings’ season looking dark, the only good thing that they have at the moment is Paige Bueckers.

Despite JJ Quinerly’s Absence, Paige Bueckers Is Marching On
Quinerly would have been a great partner for Bueckers had she stayed fit. However, while her presence will be missed, the 23-year-old star rookie is having her own merry way. While Dan Patrick recently declared the Clark-Bueckers rivalry true, the former UConn Huskies star has been outshining the Indiana Fever star.

Dallas Wings’ recent outing against the Seattle Storm saw them succumb to another defeat. And while Bueckers could only pitch in with 11 points, it was enough for her to equal one of Clark’s records. The 23-year-old has now become only the second rookie in the WNBA to record 500+ points, 150+ assists, 100+ rebounds, and 50+ steals all in the same season.
Till now, the record belonged solely to Clark. But now, the 2025 Rookie of the Year frontrunner is turning up the heat with some impeccable play. Thus, with the Wings cashing in on Bueckers, they will expect a suitable partner to aid the young phenom next season.
