The Dallas Wings had a lot of hope coming into the WNBA season this year. With the trio of Paige Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale, and DiJonai Carrington, the team had some pretty high expectations. However, in reality, the combination did not click. At the moment, the Wings have won just nine games while losing a massive 24 games. But despite not being able to break through, the team might just play spoilsport for other teams.
The WNBA is entering the business end of the league this season. With so many teams in the playoff contention, the race is a hit-and-miss for most. However, with Bueckers spitting fire, the Wings might well be a strong contender for spoiling others’ parties.
Can Dallas Wings Make A Late Splash In The League?
It is true that the Dallas Wings have only won on nine occasions. However, most of those wins have come against stronger sides. To put it simply, Bueckers and co. have shown their potential in how well they can perform on a given day. Surprisingly, six out of their nine games have come against teams that are in the playoff race. And what’s more? They even beat the defending champions, the New York Liberty.
The fact that the Wings still have several games left would bother their opponents. If they somehow regain their lost touch, then it might be curtains for teams aspiring for the playoffs at the moment. A stark example of such a scenario came in Dallas’ recent matchup against the Indiana Fever.

With Caitlin Clark being absent, Wings made the most out of the game. Bueckers and her team won the game 81-80 by displaying some gritty hooping skills. As a result of this loss, the Fever slipped down to sixth in the league table. And such a scenario can happen to any team, as the playoff race is extremely stacked. And who better than Paige Bueckers to lead the charge?

For the Dallas Wings to make the most of their remaining games, one person they need to fire is undoubtedly Bueckers. Her elite gameplay has resulted in the 23-year-old matching many of Caitlin Clark’s rookie records. At the moment, Bueckers has a total tally of 463 points, 100 rebounds, and 133 assists.
