Despite the Dallas Wings starting with four rookies, the Wings looked far from inexperienced Thursday night. The rookie combination of Bueckers, Aziaha James, and JJ Quinerly combined for 68 points on 58% shooting as the Wings defeated the Mercury 98-89.
On defense, fellow rookie starter Luisa Geiselsoder contributed four rebounds, three blocks, and a steal. It’ll be intriguing to watch how the Wings line up once Ogunbowale, Siegrist, and Carrington return. With an eye on the future and given how good rookies have been recently, Koclanes may be tempted to ride with the young guns a little more if she doesn’t have a healthy roster to select from.
