For the Dallas Wings, one thing is for sure. Paige Bueckers will be the mainstay for the team in the coming years. And that can be fathomed owing to her splendid run. Playing in her rookie season, Bueckers is maintaining an impressive playing sequence at the moment. Unfortunately, despite her five-star performances, the Dallas Wings have faltered badly. And in order to rebuild the team for the upcoming season, the Wings are already on the prowl.
Looking at how the Wings have played this season, it is evident that Bueckers lacks a partner. While the rookie is delivering some great performances, none of her teammates have been able to provide her with ample support. This is exactly why the Wings are rumored to have been closing in on a college star.
Paige Bueckers To Get A New Partner In Dallas?
Head coach Chris Koclanes has always put stress on young talent. And while the approach has not particularly clicked this year, it is likely that the team would be persisting with it. With the 2026 WNBA now nearing, the Wings’ bottom rank on the table will give them a chance to acquire another top pick. And as per the rumors, it might come in the form of TCU’s Olivia Miles.

Miles, who is a former Notre Dame standout, might just be the perfect match for Bueckers. Playing for the Fighting Irish, Miles has notched up some impressive numbers. She has been averaging 15.4 points, coupled with 5.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists. And that’s not all. The youngster is also shooting 48.3% from the field, which is quite an impressive stat, considering that she is still in college.
The report of Miles probably teaming up with Bueckers was initially hinted at by PFSN’s Jacob Infante. “Had she stayed in the 2025 draft, Olivia Miles likely would’ve been one of the first players selected. She still gets picked very early in this 2026 WNBA Mock Draft, landing with the Dallas Wings and forming a potentially dangerous backcourt duo with Paige Bueckers,” wrote Infante.

Now then, if the above stats seem impressive, her days back in Notre Dame will also further prove her quality. Playing for four seasons, Miles notched up averages of 14.2 points per game, along with 6.5 assists and six rebounds to her name. Surely, looking at her numbers, it does feel that Chris Koclanes will be praising Miles if she can replicate the performance for Dallas. Just the way in which he praised Bueckers after a spirited performance.
Paige Gets A Pat On The Back From Chris Koclanes
Bueckers might be notching up surprising stats, putting her in the spotlight after squaring off against the league’s toughest defenders. But nothing can beat the satisfaction of getting the team’s head coach’s praise. Playing against the Indiana Fever, the Wings did not have the services of Arike Ogunbowale. But the 23-year-old stepped up, dropped 16 points, and helped her team clinch a close victory. Naturally, Koclanes was elated with his rookie star.
“You look at that, 6-19, not her best game, most efficient from the field, but those eight assists, and with Arike out, just shouldered such a load. That gets to you when we’re asking you to make play after play after play… Just an incredible rookie,” Koclanes exclaimed.
Chris Koclanes said Paige Bueckers makes the "right play over and over."

Surely, Bueckers getting a support system is an exciting idea. However, whether Wings would be able to land Olivia Miles will be an interesting prospect to ponder.
