It was a different sport and a much larger play area, but Caitlin Clark didn’t hesitate for a moment and was sensational with a Golf Club in her hand. Her teammates were there to support her, her fans were there to cheer her, and she just dazzled on the Golf Course.
The Golf course got louder when a ‘familiar’ moment came as Clark scored a stunning long putt from the range. Her shot was similar to her logo threes and quickly became viral. Now, fans might see her at another Golf event as her superfan, Dave Portnoy, confirmed the 2024 WNBA rookie’s participation in the Internet Invitational Golf tournament.
Dave Portnoy Claims Caitlin Clark And Kai Trump’s Participation
The Barstool owner I one of high-profile fans of the Fever guard and backed her every time. He even spoke about running a basketball league for the star playmaker if the WNBA can’t show the respect she deserves. Though that still remains a dream, he could have her in on his golf tournament as the player showed her interest and love for the game.

Dave Portnoy wants to keep the momentum going on the wildly successful Barstool Sports Internet Invitational, and on a recent podcast interview, he opened up on the participation of the two-time WNBA All-Star. He said, “I’ve invited two people so far. I don’t know how serious the yeses are. Caitlin [Clark] said yes. Kai Trump said yes. Those are my two that I’ve asked. Whether push comes to shove and those two are available to do it, who knows.”

Portnoy added that he wants the Golf tournament to be an annual event and said that he expects a few more sponsors for the tournament. The target for the prize money is to reach the $10 million mark, which was $1 million for the inaugural tournament, a winner-take-all event.
As for Clark, the player certainly had a great time at the Annika Pro-Am LPGA tournament and left her mark with some pro-like swings and some fun with her celebrity caddies.
Caitlin Clark’s LPGA Pro-Am Return Set Record Attendance
On an ESPN show, Stephen A Smith mentioned that whatever CCC touches turns gold, and it was evident at Annika’s LPGA Pro Am event, too. As much as the WNBA benefited from the former Iowa star’s entry in the league, the golf tournament experienced a similar surge in 2024, which reached new highs in 2025 with the Fever guard’s participation.

The trend might follow her with her participation in the Internet Invitational Golf event.
