The South Carolina Gamecocks are routing their opposition with some commanding performances on the floor. The recent win against the Clemson Tigers was their third in a row this season, and the win margin (28) was still the lowest one. Amid this, Dawn Staley had to take questions on Maddy McDaniel, who was suspended for the game.
Curiosity rose when the Gamecocks announced a suspension just before the game. While Dawn Staley was upbeat despite Agot Makeer’s injury, she certainly looked even more confident about McDaniel’s suspension.
Dawn Staley With Blunt Reply Over Maddy McDaniel’s Suspension
When it comes to expecting responses from Dawn Staley, there are never ifs or buts. She is very clear with her words and speaks to the point. Recently, Dawn Staley debunked the rumor of her slamming Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle jeans campaign, where her ‘limited’ words did the trick.

Now addressing the Maddy McDaniel’s injury and suspension issue, she hardly spoke 15 words. When asked if McDaniel will be back for the next game, the HC mentioned she doubts it. When asked if the guard will be back this season, Staley said, “That’s on her. We’ll evaluate it every day.”

While the reasons for her suspension are not out yet, it seems that the sophomore now has to work harder for her way into the roster. The 5’9″ player was injured in South Carolina’s season opener against Grand Canyon and sat out in the second game.
She seemed fit to play in the third game, but suspension kept her out of the rotation. Although the HC had to deal with multiple injuries and the suspension of Maddy McDaniel, she is happy to have a new talented recruit just in time.
Dawn Staley Happy With New Recruit
As per confirmation from the program, Kaeli Wynn commits to the South Carolina Gamecocks. The 6-foot-2 star is a ‘positionless’ player who can fill in at any position according to game situations. She has a strong basketball base and background, with both her parents working as coaches.
The HC expressed her happiness sharing a posy on ‘X’, as she wrote, “A birdie just flew in the nest!!” The player also responded with “I’m HOMEEEEE” post.
