During the game, Rivers noticed a spectator, decked out in a Caitlin Clark shirt, made an inappropriate comment. The outburst led to an uncomfortable feeling. She soon brought it to the attention of the referees, leading to the fan being escorted out by security.
Thankfully, Rivers clarified afterward that the fan never touched her. It was just his words that crossed the line. According to a report by Sun journalist Emily Adams, Rivers explained that a specific comment prompted her to act.
In a follow-up from Connecticut reporter Maggie Vanoni, a representative from the Sun’s PR team confirmed that they took the situation seriously. Later, it was confirmed that the fan’s comment was inappropriate enough to warrant intervention.
