The WNBA has been witnessing some rather disturbing events in recent times. Only recently, the Rickea Jackson-James Pierce Jr. incident shook the fans. And now, the tragic passing away of Kara Braxton has made the WNBA realm go into a deep state of mourning.
Well, the demise of Braxton did not only affect women’s basketball, but it has also taken the NBA by surprise. As a result, the Detroit Pistons are all set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Detroit Shock’s championship run, but they are now reconsidering their decision.

Why Did The Detroit Pistons Make A Change In Their Plans?
The Detroit Shock had a historic run, winning the title back in 2006. Following the completion of 20 years, the Pistons had some special celebrations planned for their March 7 game against the Brooklyn Nets. But according to reports from Madeline Kenney, officials have postponed the plans at Little Caesars Arena to a later date.

Meanwhile, as the news of Braxton came in the most unexpected manner, here’s what caused the 43-year-old to leave her Earthly abode so early.
How Did Detroit Shock’s Kara Braxton Die?

Initially, reports on February 21 came in about a former WNBA star’s death. However, there was no briefing as to what caused the tragedy. At that time, the only information available was that the incident took place in Georgia. But after some digging into the matter, USA Today was able to provide an explanation.
As per a statement from the Cobb County Police, the former Shock star was driving her blue 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Unfortunately, by the time she approached the Cobb Parkway, Braxton failed to keep her car in the lane and crashed into the concrete wall.
Immediately, the medical team admitted her to the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia. Sadly, it was too late as the doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
