DiJonai Carrington might have changed her team. But her obsession with her hair does not seem to change. The WNBA has been on the rise in the last couple of years. Apart from the on-court performances, characters like Carrington have contributed a lot towards the growth of the league. And while her fashion sense has kept fans intrigued, a gift from Cheryl Reeve has the 27-year-old in splits.
Carrington recently joined the Minnesota Lynx from the Dallas Wings. And even before getting scrutinized for her performance, the former Wings star had a hilarious face-off with the Lynx’s coach. Pointing towards her hairstyle, HC Reeves gave the former Stanford star a unique gift.
Cheryl Reeves’ Hilarious Gift Makes DiJonai Carrington Crack Up
The promising WNBA guard is proud of her luscious locks. And she is pretty much concerned with the manner in which she carries them. Carrington can often be seen experimenting with her hair colors, coupled with some trendy outfits in her tunnel walks. Apart from these, one more signature habit of hers is her repeated hair flips during the game.
Now, such a practice might look like a hindrance for many. But for the 27-year-old, it is not. In a recent Instagram live session, the Lynx guard revealed that the hair flips come to her subconsciously. But then, she also went on to reveal a hilarious solution offered by head coach Reeves.
“After practice, we did the huddle and she’s like, ‘Oh I got something for Ne’ and she gives me a pack of bobby pins so I don’t do that sh*t no more, I guess,” Carrington said. “I said I won’t argue but I told her, ‘It’s the layers, I got layers.’ It’s tough being a baddie out here y’all, it’s real tough,” said Carrington.

DiJonai Carrington Trade Might Be The Spark That Minnesota Lynx Needed
The Minnesota Lynx still cannot get over the heartbreaking loss in last year’s final. Thus, aiming to leave no stone unturned, they made a move to acquire the Suns’ rookie from Dallas. And signing Carrington might just change the entire dynamics of the team. Before joining the Lynx, the 27-year-old struggled with a 35.4% shooting and an average of 10.4 points.

But after the first three games with her new team, Carrington is shooting 62.5%, averaging 13.3 points already, as per SB Nation. And not only that, the former Wings guard has shown her level by dropping 15 points against the New York Liberty lately. She also chipped in with three assists, six rebounds, and a couple of steals.
