The 2025 season had been tough for DiJonai Carrington. The 27-year-old found it difficult to reproduce her MIP season at the Dallas Wings, and when she saw her footing in the Lynx roster, injury halted her good run. Additionally, rumors surrounding her personal life, including a potential split with NaLyssa Smith, began making headlines.
Although her teammate, Courtney Williams, confirmed the status during a live stream by Studbudz, many were hoping it was false. However, the player herself has now confirmed the news, making it loud and clear.

DiJonai Carrington Confirms Split With NaLyssa Smith
The duo began dating during their time at Baylor and continued their relationship in the WNBA after being drafted in 2021. Over the years, rumors circulated about their separation, and they even took a break in their relationship before reuniting and joining forces at the Wings franchise.
However, they soon moved to different franchises through trade and continued their professional careers. In October, rumors circulated about Carrington-Smith’s split, following a cryptic Instagram post and unfollow drama. And now the 2024 MIP confirmed the separation, saying, “I am. Very much so single,” on a live stream.
