The Unrivaled roster list is out, and as much as players want to play in the WNBA, they want to be part of this revolutionary 3-on-3 league that has become popular and also a lucrative one after just one season. Unfortunately, DiJonai Carrington will not be fully fit until the start of the season and thus will miss Season 2.
While the league aims to maintain the excitement with the addition of three young WNBA All-Stars, fans will miss the veteran forward. But staying optimistic on the ‘miss’, the Lynx forward reacted to the news.
DiJonai Carrington Reacts To Missing Unrivaled League Season 2
The Unrivaled league season 2 will start from January 5, and the final teams will be declared on November 9. The league closed the roster, adding the remaining three players before October 31.

After the complete list was out, fans identified a few top names missing from the list who had played in season one, including DiJonai Carrington, who had played for Mist. While her injury was the main reason for her snub, the star remained positive on the exclusion as she wrote, “so sick about this but I know my God is cooking up somethin real special!!!” with three broken heart emojis.
The 2024 MIP suffered an injury during the playoffs’ opening round and sat out the semifinal round against the Phoenix Mercury. In her first season, Carrington averaged nearly 10 points, two assists, four rebounds, and a steal per game.

Along with the 27-year-old star, other big names missing from the lineup are Angel Reese and Sabrina Ionescu. Fans commented on Reese and Ionescu’s exclusion, making fun of those athletes, but the former Baylor player had some of the nicest words for the Chi-Town Barbie.
DiJonai Carrington Lauds Angel Reese’s ‘Risk’
Attending a public event and answering questions on various topics, the Lynx forward touched on the subject of the WNBA’s growth and how people are looking to invest in the league and its players. While she is also part of the revolution that brought the league eyeballs, she singled out the Chicago Sky forward for her brave steps this offseason while discussing the intersection of women’s sports and fashion.
“Honestly, 20 years back, nobody even imagined that in 20 years somebody would be walking Victoria’s Secret runway. No, absolutely not. Now, imagine that happening, the girls are now imagining in 20 years, I will be this, this, this and that. That was the risk for Angel to take. She is a basketball player, that’s not all she is, but to walk a runway with millions of people (watching), that’s a risk, but she did it for the next generations,” Carrington said.

Reese’s Victoria’s Secret ramp walk made the news and certainly opened new avenues for players and upcoming generations. Carrington herself has been one of the most followed WNBA players and could well be part of an equally impactful event in the near future. And maybe that could be God’s plan for her.
