DiJonai Carrington Talks About Her Lynx Debut
The title contenders put all their eggs in one basket, trading for the Dallas Wings’ forward. The player struggled under Chris Koclanes’ system. However, experienced HC Cheryl Reeve had faith in her abilities.
Landing in the championship contender team from a bottom-placed Wings is a massive upgrade for the Sun rookie. But she didn’t shy away from the spotlight and delivered a masterclass at the Climate Pledge Arena. After sizzling on the floor, the star also reflected on her debut.

And it really happened so fast. The player had just 48 hours to join the new team. Yet, the former Baylor player flew to Seattle on the same day of her trade and started practicing with her new teammates.

On the floor, she showed great energy and commitment to win the game. She finished the game with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. More importantly, she was efficient from the floor, netting five shots from seven attempts.
DiJonai Carrington Credits Teammates For Her Quick Adjustment
While the transition and adjustment were faster than expected, the 2024 Most Improved Player winner credited her teammates for the same. She played with Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman during her time at the Connecticut Sun. The player’s style of play also syncs with the Minnesota ideology under Cheryl Reeve.

The HC was also happy with Carrington’s debut. She was expecting the player to take a game or two to settle in, but the performance on debut night surprised Reeve. She highlighted the forward’s impact in the fourth quarter and the game-tying three-pointer.
The Lynx will next welcome the Washington Mystics on July 8. Excited by her debut, the star will look to impress her team with similar performances.
