The rumors around the Wings are not encouraging. The side could be ‘a seller’ in the market looking to build up for the future. The Texas franchise stands in 11th position with an 8-20 record despite having top players like Arike Ogunbowale, Paige Bueckers, and DiJonai Carrington in the lineup.
Ogunbowale was in trade discussions, according to multiple reports. As per Alexa Philippou, the 27-year-old forward could also be on the move. In a recent conversation on ESPN, the reporter mentioned that the Wings could trade for the 2024 Most Improved Player.

DiJonai Carrington Struggles At Dallas Wings
The former Baylor star had a career-high season with the Sun. She averaged around 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals—all career-high stats in her fourth season with the Connecticut franchise. Moving to the Dallas Wings was supposed to bring the best out of her with a star back-court pairing around her.

However, her shooting dropped to 35% from 40%. Her scoring efficiency is also the third lowest on the team, which is full of rookies. Moving her midseason will allow the side to give its young stars more game time and an opportunity to shine.
For the star, it could be a bench role on a championship aspirant side or a lead role on the lower-ranked teams. There are fewer teams looking to add forwards at the moment. But the Mystics, Sun, or even Valkyries would look to add an experienced star to their lineup.
