Not long ago, Angel Reese spoke about missing playing in the Unrivalled league, but the Rose BC was up for the task, which made the roster spot available for its star player and got her back in the lineup. Lexie Hull and the franchise welcomed Reese with heartfelt messages as they were helping around the rim.
But the Atlanta Dream co-owner Renee Montgomery sees things differently and mentioned that the new addition would put the Rose BC in the driver’s seat once again.

Renee Montgomery Simplifies Angel Reese’s Impact On Rose BC
Chelsea Grey took extra responsibility in the absence of Angel Reese to keep the champions on track for another title. But supporting players failed to live up to the task, mainly on the defensive end, giving away too many points. The 2024 rookies’ inclusion would be a massive upgrade for them in that department, and Montgomery highlighted the same.
In the pre-game show, Renee Montgomery said, “There is motion behind Angel Reese’s name. Even all that aside, they actually need what she would provide. They need defense, that’s where they are struggling at. Since the beginning of the season to now, there is too much difference in the way they were winning a lot, and now they’re not winning a lot. And it’s the defensive side, the rebounding.”

She added that getting help for Chelsea Grey, someone to play pick and roll and give her a bit of easy baskets, would be important for the Rose BC. The star has a strong defensive stand on the court and will be crucial for the defending champions in the remaining portion of the season.

The timing of her addition is perfect, as she is well rested and has ample time to prepare for the next match on February 20, during the 1-on-1 tournament in Unrivalled season 2. While she is happy to be back on the Unrivaled floor, the star has another major milestone in her career.
Angel Reese Reacts To Her Team USA Selection
The sky forward was one of many young stars at the USA training camp, sweating out for the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers. On February 11, the management announced the players participating in the event. The former LUS star will join the likes of Paige Bueckers, Caitlin Clark, Sonia Citron, and Kiki Iriafen as a number of first-timers on the squad.

She shared her excitement on Instagram story and wrote, “More Barbie hoops. Such an honor to represent the country.”
The team will have one full month to prepare, with the qualifying tournament scheduled from March 11 to 17 in Puerto Rico. Team USA is the defending champion in the FIBA Women’s World Cup after dominating the last edition.
