It’s hard to get praises from legendary players who achieved all in their careers, and when they do have nice words, they mean it wholeheartedly. Similar is the case with Dwyane Wade. The three-time champion hyped up Paige Bueckers and has the nicest words for the 23-year-old star.
But it’s not just ‘false praise’. When the Miami Heat legend talks highly about a player, she clearly has a strong case. Earlier, Wade mentioned that A’ja Wilson can beat an NBA player in a one-on-one contest, and the Aces’ forward won the MVP award. Now the retired star has special words for PB.
Dwyane Wade Praises Paige Bueckers
The former UConn player was nearly a unanimous Rookie of the Year winner, missing out on the feat by just two votes. While her numbers in the season speak volumes, Wade pointed out that her cool nature on and off the court makes her the most likable person.

“I’m just a really big fan, but I’m like, she just looks cool to me, bro. Like, I wanna be her friend. She just looked that kind of cool. But the way she passes it on to everything and everybody else makes her even cooler. Like, when she gets on the microphone, what she’s saying, and how she says it, you know, how she stands? She stands on business,” Wade said on a podcast.
The NBA superstar also predicts a bright future for the 2025 rookie, mentioning that her career is just starting and she will win more awards.

Praising her gameplay, the former champion recalled the NCAA champion’s altercation with Kelsey Plum and how she trash-talked, telling her exactly, putting her in her place.
Dallas Wings Gets Massive Fan Following After Paige Bueckers’ Entry
While Paige Bueckers’ entry was highly anticipated for many reasons, the Dallas Wings certainly benefited from her selection. According to reports from Blinkfire, the Wings led all major U.S. Sports teams in engagement per follower in 2025. Across five digital platforms—Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube—the franchise expanded its audience to 850,000.
That’s nearly double the growth from April 2025, before the UConn star entered the league. Even though the franchise performed poorly in the season, its massive engagement is widely due to PB’s eye-catching plays and court moments.
The side will be looking to provide help to its star rookie, as another NBA star, Draymond Green, offered strategic advice to Bueckers amid the Dallas Wings’ struggles. Interestingly, the Wings have sufficient top draft picks to add exciting prospects in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
