The sneaker culture is gripping. Even though there are several signature shoes from multiple NBA and WNBA players, very few have established themselves as premier and highest-selling kicks. In this vast variety and competitive linage, there is now a new entrant – AE1.
The Minnesota Timberwolves’ star Anthony Edwards gets his signature shoe line from Adidas, and the first player to wear them was WNBA star Erica Wheeler.
Erica Wheeler Excited To Debut Anthony Edwards’ Signature Shoes
It’s now very customary to see NBA and WNBA players wearing unisex sneakers that fit their requirements and comfort. The top seller amongst the WNBA stars, Sabrina Ionescu, exchanged her kicks with Ja Morant during a regular-season game. Many NBA stars often wear WNBA stars’ sneaker lines and vice versa.

Wheeler launched AE1 Preloved Purple during her playing days with the Indiana Fever. The Adidas pair suits her well, as she continues using them a year later and never misses a chance to endorse them.
When a sneaker reporter shared a post regarding Adidas AE1s, the star was quick to respond and showed her excitement for the new variant.
Adidas released the AE1s in October 2024, and after the major success, the new variant AE2 was out in January 2025. The Seattle Storm star prefers AE for her games. James Harden is another superstar connected with Adidas.

In the WNBA, the Chicago Sky star Angel Reese recently got her signature shoe line with Reebok, which will debut in September. While she is hyped up for her kicks, A’ja Wilson and Sabrina Ionescu continue to dominate the sales. Caitlin Clark’s Kobe 5 variant was also famous amongst the youth. It broke the sales records for the quickest sales.
Though there is no concrete news on Caitlin Clark’s own branding, she has a deal with Nike, which confirmed a signature shoe for the Fever guard in the coming days. Diana Taurasi also endorsed Clark as the next face of Nike and mentioned that she will definitely buy those kicks.
Erica Wheeler Finding Her Form With The Seattle Storm
The 34-year-old guard had been in the league for 10 seasons now. She played with five teams in that period, spending six seasons with the Indiana franchise. But apart from a sole All-Star selection, she hardly had any success in the league.
Joining the four-time champions turned the tables for the former Rutgers star. Nearing her career-high season with the Wheeler, she is averaging around 11 points, three rebounds, four assists and a steal. Even though she has limited gametime for the Seattle franchise, she is making the most of it and impacting the games for the playoff aspirant side.
