Angel Reese and her team might have signed off on this year’s WNBA. But yet, the discussions are not looking to subside. It all started with the Chi-town Barbie giving an explosive interview to the Chicago Tribune. And the ripple effect was such that the Chicago Sky is rumored to be parting ways with Reese. Now, while this bit of news is not confirmed, one thing is for sure. The backlashes are not stopping anytime soon. And Etan Thomas has been the latest addition.
Reese pointed out that the team would need to sign some quality players to have a great run next season. She also lashed out at her teammates and indirectly called Courtney Vandersloot ‘old.’ And now, looking at her comments, Michael Jordan’s former teammate had a lot to say.
Etan Thomas Disapproves Of What Angel Reese Had To Say About Her Teammates
Thomas appeared in a recent episode of ‘The Rematch Show.’ During the segment, the former NBA star spoke about the Chicago Sky’s poor form for the past couple of weeks. At one point, the host asked him to comment on Reese’s statements. Thomas immediately responded that a player must not publicly criticize her teammates. He also pointed out how a toned-down and measured approach could have been.

“I would say as a rule, I would say that you never talk bad about your teammates to the media,” He said. “I would say that a better way to say the same exact message that she was conveying would have been, ‘We need to get better, we have to do better next year’. We cannot and use ‘we’ over and over again,” said Thomas.
Surely, Reese’s criticism of Vandersloot left a lot of fans and critics shocked. While the 23-year-old pointed out that she would be 37 next year, Vandersloot is a two-time WNBA champion. Following the comments, Reese and Vandersloot’s relationship is rumoured to be in despair. Interestingly, when asked about her plans for the next year, Vandersloot came up with an interesting reply.

Courtney Vandersloot Confirms Coming Back For The Next Season Despite Angel Reese’s Comments
Vandersloot had an ACL injury that kept her out of action this year. But now that she has fully recovered, the 36-year-old is raring to go. Despite what Reese said, the veteran star has confirmed that she can join the team in the upcoming season. She also stressed the fact that her advancing age is not likely to have a negative impact on her on-court performance.

“Contrary to what people say or think, my age is absolutely not a factor. I am coming back. I’m gonna come back better than ever because that’s what I’ve done. I’ve put myself in the position to come back and compete at this age,” said Vandersloot, in an interaction with Shimmy Miller.
Surely, at face value, the situation looks to have become extremely delicate. How the Sky front office sorts things out will be a prospect that the fans will eagerly wait to watch as the days progress.
