The CBA talks are taking some ugly turns this year. For years, the plea for better pay for female athletes has been a persistent issue. Unfortunately, no significant progress has been made on that front as of yet.
But with the CBA deadline hanging in the balance, the WNBA athletes have taken quite a do-or-die stance. Compared to the NBA’s 50% revenue-share, the WNBA athletes are entitled to only 7%. And with the leadership looking seemingly unwilling to address the situation, names like Napheesa Collier have stepped forward and urged players not to back down.
However, it appears that Collier is not the only notable figure protesting publicly. Recently, Angel Reese allegedly had some stern words for the WNBA authorities.
Fake Allegations Of Angel Reese Issuing Stern Warning To WNBA Doing The Rounds Amidst CBA Tensions
The league finalized the last CBA agreement in 2020. However, since then, the league has undergone a drastic restructuring. With the emergence of star players like Reese, Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, and others, the league’s revenue has skyrocketed significantly. And with that came the plea for better pay.

At the moment, the CBA negotiations stand as a dead rubber. The WNBA has proposed a 30-day CBA deadline extension to avoid the work stoppage.
Now that the WNBPA has agreed to the proposal, posts claiming that Reese has asked for ‘NBA Pay’ are doing the rounds. However, in reality, the comments are fake as the Sky star never made these statements.

This is one of the many instances where Reese has been misquoted. However, while the recent claims were fake, Reese did speak on the topic before.
Angel Reese Delivered Strong Response To WNBA Over CBA Negotiations
The players have already stated that failing to abide by their plea might result in a potential work strike. Now, coming to Reese, the Sky star is well-known for her unfiltered takes on matters. In her exit interview, the 23-year-old stated that she lashed out at her own teammates. Reese noted that the head coach should have been stricter in dealing with some of the players.

Thus, when it came to equal pay, it was quite evident that the Chi-Town Barbie would not hold back. Back in July 2025, Reese said, “The revenue shares, that’s really important for us. We deserve it. I know we’re not letting up. I know we’re going to do whatever it takes to get what we deserve.”
Thus, it looks like things are escalating pretty fast. Now that Reese has issued the ultimatum, fans wait to see what happens next.
