The 2025 season saw a power shift in the league with both the 2024 WNBA finalists humbled and the Las Vegas Aces clinching the title. A’ja Wilson earned a GOAT status following her historic quadruple achievement. Caitlin Clark missed most of the season due to Injury, yet the Fever stunned everyone by reaching the semifinals.
Weeks after the season’s conclusion, the Boardroom released a list of players with the highest-selling merchandise. But fans started a debate over the ranking, showing their support for their beloved stars.
Fans React To Caitlin Clark Leading The Merchandise Sale
Boardroom released a list of the highest-selling merchandise by WNBA players. The list comprises three rookies and two veterans, highlighting the impact of young stars on the fan base. The former Iowa star takes the top position while Angel Reese and Sabrina Ionescu complete the top three rankings, respectively.

The rankings are quite understandable, given the popularity of the 2024 rookies. The Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White even called Clark ‘Taylor Swift 2.0’ over her growing popularity. But, reigning MVP and three-time champion A’ja Wilson takes fifth place as Kate Martin occupies fourth place, which actually started the debate.

While the merchandise sales and even the popularity charts are very subjective lists with every fan having a case for their favorite players, very few would argue with the Forbes list. In 2025, Forbes released its first-ever list of the most powerful women in Sports. Interestingly, it has two players from the highest merch sales list.
Forbes Crowns Caitlin Clark Among Most Powerful Women In Sports
With the ever-growing influence of women in sports, Forbes declared that it would form a list of the most powerful women in sports. They released a list of the most powerful women in the USA, where New Orleans Pelicans owner Gayle Benson earns the top spot with $ 7.9 billion net worth.
Among the list, the Fever guard earned the fourth spot and is the top-ranked athlete. The list wrote, “Caitlin Clark has turned her record-breaking college basketball career into early dominance in the WNBA. Her estimated $8.1 million in income from her rookie season with the Indiana Fever was bolstered by big deals with Nike, Wilson and Gatorade and signals a shift in how female athletes are being valued in the world of professional sports.”

CC overtook players like Simone Biles, Serena Williams, Coco Gauff, and A’ja Wilson, who have been in the sport for years and made their mark. While this is the first time Forbes has created this list, placing the player at the top highlights her potential to rise among the best in the world.
