The sports world shook with the news of the Minnesota event, where Alex Pretti lost his life. A federal agent shot him during an immigration enforcement operation in the Twin Cities. Angel Reese, Cameron Brink and WNBA stars send prayers and support after tragic events in Minnesota. Breanna Stewart also reacted to the situation during her Unrivaled introduction.
Interestingly, the Liberty star’s wife, Marta Xargay, is a Spanish citizen, and they are still working on her U.S. citizenship. The player explained her stance to the press.

Fans React To Breanna Stewart’s Protest
During the recent match between Mist BC and Vinyl BC, the veteran forward held a sign reading “Abolish ICE,” showing her clear stance on the government’s actions and recent actions by immigration officers.
“Really, all day yesterday, I was just disgusted from everything that you see on Instagram and in the news. We’re so fueled by hate right now, and instead of love, so I wanted to have a simple message of ‘Abolish ICE,’ which means having policies to uplift families and communities instead of fueling fear and violence,” Stewart told the reporters.

Breanna Stewart Sharing Positive Update On CBA Deal
The CBA discussion began in October 2024 and has heated up over the past three months, with the league under deadline pressure. Though the WNBA and WNBPA had extensions twice, the deal is still in the initial stages. But now, the WNBPA vice president gave a positive outlook on the discussions.
Talking to FOS, she said, “Unfortunately I wasn’t an economics major or anything like that, but we’re trying to get the best deal possible and we want to negotiate in good faith with the league. We’re hoping for some positive kind of change or reinforcement here. I feel like kind of. I’m just starting to see it (positive signs).”
