Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever had some big expectations coming into the season. After a whirlwind rookie season, the 23-year-old was expected to set the bar even higher this time around. Unfortunately, things came to a screeching halt in the most unexpected manner. The former Iowa star suffered a series of injuries that stunted her progress. And now, despite Clark’s injury status receiving a positive update, there is no fixed timeline for her return.
And that is perhaps why Clark feels the heat sitting on the sidelines. With the Indiana Fever pushing for the playoffs, the 2024 Rookie of the Year knows fully well how badly her team wants her. With the Fever struggling at the moment, a pained moment of Clark has recently gone viral.
Caitlin Clark’s Pained Reaction Takes Over Social Media
Clark has been out for a while now. She has only played 13 games this season. On the contrary, the number of games missed has now swelled to 20. And this is, in no way, an easy task for the Face of WNBA. In each of her five previous seasons, Clark has never missed a game! Yes, you heard that correctly.

The 23-year-old star rookie has played 185 games back-to-back. Surely, such a feeling is hurting Clark’s sentiment significantly. Meanwhile, in a recent video circulated on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Fever star could be seen sitting on the bench with a blank look. While it is unclear which game the clip is from, it looks like the young phenom is pained to see her team lose without her.

Clark also opened up about her frustrations earlier this year. Speaking to Sue Bird of the ‘Bird’s Eye View’ podcast, the 23-year-old addressed her toughest challenges. She stated that after having worked hard in the preseason, sitting out feels really hectic. Meanwhile, watching their favorite star in sorrow, fans quickly took over social media.

“Poor baby. She had such high expectations coming into the W. I doubt she ever imagined so many in the league would hate her for just being who she is. My heart breaks for her. Maybe she should try playing overseas,” shared another user.
