The CBA discussions are reaching their climax with the second extension period entering its third week. Examining the situation, during the NBA Cup finals, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver hinted that he could intervene to resolve the WNBA CBA negotiations. Silver already has insights into the WNBA’s progress and praised Caitlin Clark for her massive impact, but now, with the situation escalating, he has made himself available for the discussion.
However, the players’ association has taken the matter seriously, and reports indicate that they are ready for a strike if negotiations fail. Per the union, 93% of players participated in the vote. WNBA fans, though, reacted to the possible absentees for the voting.

Fans See Caitlin Clark And Sophie Cunningham As No-Voters
The WNBA is currently under pressure with its new proposal not going through the approvals of the players’ association. Earlier, superstar A’ja Wilson dropped key updates on WNBA CBA negotiations amid the extension deadline, mentioning that the players are firm on their demands.
And now, with a strike option, the WNBPA showed its intentions for ‘no more extensions’. According to the report, 93% of players participated in the voting, with 98% showing support for the strike. With a majority of players in favor of the lockout. Interestingly, the NBPA also used a similar strategy, going on strike four times during their CBA discussions.

There are no details available about the voting, nor are there details about the absentees who participated in the voting. However, neither player commented extensively on the CBA discussions, and they were brief in their responses to questions regarding the same. Cunningham, however, was somewhat aggressive; CC’s approach was more diplomatic.
Caitlin Clark Gives Her Opinion On CBA Discussions
During the USA basketball training camp, the Fever guard and many young stars gave their opinion about the ongoing CBA discussions. While many players slammed the league for the progress, Clark spoke about the fans.
Pointing out the possible lockout, the Fever guard said, “That’s what our fans crave — the product on the floor. That’s what the fans want to show up for. So, it’s business, and it’s a negotiation, and there has to be compromise on both sides. And we’re starting to get down to the wire of it.”
