With the WNBA Season winding up, fans are now keeping an eye on the Unrivaled league, which made a sensational debut in 2024. The 3-on-3 league also has a strong lineup for season 2. Keeping the plan to attract popular players for more attention, Unrivaled expands the 2026 roster with three young WNBA All-Stars, including Paige Bueckers. But one big name is still missing from the lineup, and that’s Caitlin Clark.
Even though the Fever guard is out due to injury, season 2 of the Unrivaled league will start in 2026, which will give her ample time to regain match fitness. But as per the Fever reporter, the 2024 rookie might opt against playing in the Unrivaled.
Caitlin Clark To Stay Away From Unrivaled
The WNBA’s popularity rose to another level with the addition of the former Iowa star. Her gameplay and eye-catching assists made her popular among the fans drawing more and more eyeball to the league.

Even veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell gave Clark her flowers for transforming the Indiana Fever into a playoff contender. She is one of the most appealing players in the league, and as per a few reports, the Unrivaled league is looking to add her to their roster for Season 2.
In IndyStar’s exclusive interview, the Indiana Fever reporter, Chloe Peterson, addressed the news and suggested that the 23-year-old player won’t participate in the newly formed league. She gave two important reasons for the same.
“I think if anything, she doesn’t want to risk getting injured again, especially with how quickly she came back, got injured, came back, got injured, type of thing. So I don’t think she’ll play in any kind of official league, but she’ll obviously be ramping back up and finding ways to play team basketball, I would think,” Peterson said.

While the star prioritizes getting back on the court as early as possible, avoiding playing in the offseason makes much sense. Moreover, Peterson suggests that the 3-on-3 game is very fast, and CC would be one of those players who doesn’t want to play 3-on-3 basketball. So even if the two-time all-star decides to suit up in the offseason, she would play in Athletes Unlimited, a 5-on-5 league that also has many WNBA players.
Indiana Fever Insider Provides Caitlin Clark Injury Assessment
While the player confirmed that she will be out for the complete season, fans are still hoping to see her completely fit, even though she can’t compete on court. But Scott Agness, an Indiana Fever insider, confirmed that the player is still feeling pain in her ankle.
“I thought I saw [in Atlanta], and then again in the video, she was still favoring that left ankle. She was not running completely smooth. Now, given it’s early in the morning, that was like the first 10 minutes of shootaround. [She] shot it well, but she has been able to shoot throughout all of this over the last several months,” Agnes said in the interview.
Great interview with @ScottAgness and @RADeMita Scott talks about Caitlin not being able to return and her ankle still being an issue. Must watch interview!

The Fever fans are hoping to see her rule the WNBA courts again. While they accepted the fact that the playmaker won’t be part of the 2025 playoff run, more recovery time is somewhat concerning news.
