The Indiana Fever has found itself in deep waters this season. At the halfway mark, the Fever has managed to put up a mediocre show, standing 6th on the points table. A big factor that has contributed to Fever’s poor showing is the unavailability of Caitlin Clark. And in her absence, Indiana is looking to bolster their roster further as they have just signed Kyra Lambert.
On the contrary, the Fever started their season with a lot of hope. With Clark in fiery form in her rookie season, the Fever expected that she would carry on with her heroics this year, too. Unfortunately, things turned out to be anticlimactic as Clark suffered a groin injury that allowed her to play only 13 games. Thankfully, in her absence, the addition of Lambert might help the team to cope up a bit.
Fever Signs Kyra Lambert Amid Injury Woes
Despite losing out on major stars, the Fever is still in contention. While their playoff spot looks quite certain, the outfit is also aiming for a probable championship run. However, in order to make a strong point, they would need some quality athletes to perform. And that is exactly why they have signed Lambert.
Owing to injuries to Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson, the Indiana Fever opted for the 28-year-old. And this comes just days after Fever roped in Odyssey Sims. Pairing up with Sims, the 28-year-old is expected to be available from the next game, where she would wear the no.15. Meanwhile, according to reports, Lambert has been roped in for a seven-day contract. Such a move suggests that the management wants to have a look at how the 28-year-old is handling the WNBA pressure before making any possible long-term commitment.

And might just be the best approach at the moment. That is because Lambert has never played in the WNBA. Prior to joining the Fever, the veteran guard spent her entire professional career in Europe. While she did win the championship in Greece, it will be an interesting prospect to watch how well she can adapt to the American league. But a look at her career stats will reveal that the Greek champion might just be the perfect fit for Fever’s woes.
What Does Kyra Lambert Bring To Fever Table?
The 28-year-old will be stepping in for Clark. And those are some big shoes to fill. Playing with Olympiacos, the star guard clinched the Greek A1 League. And her performance in the season was quite remarkable. Lambert dropped an average of 15.4 per game, and also shot a whopping 42.1 percent from three-pointers.

Interestingly, the 28-year-old is quite an experienced campaigner. Prior to Greece, she also played in Turkey, Slovakia, New Zealand, Latvia, and France. Thus, with a lot of expectations on her shoulders, fans would like to see how Lambert fares.
