The WNBA season has just ended. And yet, things are looking extremely busy in the middle. For one, it is the CBA negotiations that are keeping everyone on their feet. However, a much more important aspect that the franchises would be concerned about is the WNBA draft.
The 2026 WNBA Draft is expected to come with a lot of potential and promise. And while the likes of Awa Fam are pushing for a probable No. 1 pick, there are more players ready to clinch the headline.
And one among them is undoubtedly Flau’Jae Johnson. Playing for LSU, the 21-year-old is one of the most hyped names for this year. But ahead of her WNBA stint, Johsnon is keen to shoulder a major responsibility for her college team.
Flau’Jae Johnson Is Ready To Take LSU To Glory
This year, things have been particularly tough for LSU. As the team underwent a lot of changes, the most important among them was the exit of Aneesah Morrow. Morrow, who was LSU’s top scorer last season, went to the Connecticut Sun as the seventh overall.

Now, to cope with the void, the front office has brought in some freshmen along with several transfers. Thus, with the roster going through a radical change, it is important for someone to bridge the gap and form unity among the team.
And quite expectedly, playing in her final year of college, Johnson is ready to shoulder the huge responsibility. Speaking about the same, Johnson stated, “It falls on me 100% because I know the system, I know what we need to do, I know what needs to happen, and I know what Coach Mulkey wants, so I have to be an active leader, lead by example, so they know what to do, and do the right thing on and off the court.”

Surely, this will be a test of the 21-year-old’s leadership skills before her WNBA days commence. And with Johnson listed in the Top 5 draft picks for 2026, her future surely looks rosy. Meanwhile, already commenting on WNBA happenings, Johnson recently reacted to Angel Reese’s Victoria’s Secret walk.
Flau’Jae Johnson Appreciates Angel Reese’s Latest Achievement
Angel Reese recently made headlines with her Victoria’s Secret debut. And while she received a host of praises from her WNBA mates, Johnson, too, seemed mightily impressed.

Reacting to the same, the LSU star stated, “I thought she ate, that was hard,” she said.
Now, such a compliment coming from Johnson is a big deal. That’s because the two are not on good terms. Speaking on a June 2025 episode of ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Johnson stated, “We’re not friends. But I mean, like, that bond that we had, and that thing we did together, win the national championship, you can never take that away from us.”
Diving deeper into their rift, the 21-year-old pointed to a 2023 rift when Reese’s mother criticized Johnson’s grammar. In return, Kia Brooks lashed out at Reese about her alleged 2.0 GPA.
