The NCAAW games are now getting intense. Not only for the March Madness preparations, but also for the upcoming WNBA draft. At the start of the season, Flau’jae Johnson aims to elevate performance in her final LSU season, eyeing a top 2026 WNBA Draft spot. She is doing everything to live up to her promise and has been clinical for the LSU team.
Despite the fact that her side has lost four games in the season so far, some of the losses were at a crucial juncture of the season. The senior guard’s mother came ahead to defend her daughter and was aggressive in her analysis.

Flau’jae Johnson Receives Huge Backing From Her Mother
The South Carolina vs LSU or Kim Mulkey vs Dawn Staley games have always been very entertaining and exciting, bringing out the best from both teams over the years. Though the Gamecocks had clear dominance in the faceoff, every year they relived the rivalry with fresh faces and star players. The 2025-26 game ended in South Carolina’s favor (once again), but one person who saw a win in LSU’s loss was Johnson’s mother, Kia Brooks.
In the recent online video, she said, “We have never beat South Carolina, cool. But what is going on today, Flau’jae is beating South Carolina in real life. No disrespect to them girls, no disrespect to Dawn [Staley], [but] we beating them in real life.”

“The whole goal is to go to the WNBA and get you a bag, right? Get you a bag and provide for your family, right?” Brooks continued. “Flau’jae has already done that. She’s already done that. Flau’jae don’t even have to go to the league. She is set for life. Her momma set her up for life.”

Adding to her basketball accomplishments in the game, she mentioned that Flau’jae Johnson was a better player on the court, and no Gamecocks star would enter the WNBA before her in the draft. The LSU guard scored 21 points in the loss.
As for her winning in life, the player is successfully balancing her rapping and basketball careers, while, as per the projections, the 22-year-old might enter the league as one of the top five picks in the 2026 WNBA draft.
Flau’jae Johnson’s Possible Draft Selection
Ahead of the 2026 WNBA draft, the senior guard expressed her desire to play for the Atlanta Dream and the Toronto Tempo. While the Dream team has a much lower draft pick, the expansion team could pick her at the sixth or seventh position.

As per the recent projections, based on players’ performances and franchises’ needs, most of the lists put her at the fifth position, while Bleacher Report handed her the sixth pick in the draft. This would land her with the Chicago Sky, or the expansion team, the Portland Fire.
But interestingly, there is no South Carolina player ahead of her in the draft projections, as her mother, Kia Brook, mentioned in her video.
