Angel Reese has emerged as one of the most prominent faces of the WNBA, and she has often been involved in some controversy or another. Outside her on-court antics, the Chicago Sky star has always found a way to hit the headlines. And the latest addition to the same is the one with WNBA legend, Candace Parker.
Parker gave Angel Reese a questionable rating in a recent assessment of current WNBA talent. As widespread accusations of bias and hate emerged, the 39-year-old made sure to clear the air.
Candace Parker Denies Hard Feelings For Angel Reese
Parker made sure that she had no grudge against Angel Reese. The controversy stemmed from Parker’s comments in an episode of ‘Complex Sports.’ Parker assessed Reese as an athlete who belongs to the ‘C’ tier. This led to the fans speculating whether the 39-year-old snubbed one of the league’s rising stars.
But as the heat started to grow, the WNBA icon quickly made amends. Appearing on the ‘Good Follow’ podcast, Parker decided to address the situation. She stated that Reese surely did have the potential to reach an ‘A’ or ‘S’ tier ranking. But at the moment, compared to other experienced athletes, the Sky star does lag a bit.
“I love her. She plays for the Chicago Sky, I saw her at my jersey retirement vs. L.A., so it’s nothing like that. … I will never attack anyone’s character, I will never attack who they are ever, and I just hope others will do the same,” said Parker.
There’s a difference between hate and holding space for real conversations.

Sheryl Swoopes Backs Angel Reese Despite ‘MeBound’ Mockery
Despite the downward curve of the Chicago Sky, Angel Reese has been the lone light at the end of the tunnel. Reese has set many records this season and earned an All-Star call. However, with her impressive physical play and rebounding ability, she has been subjected to significant criticism. Fans have mocked her style of play as ‘MeBounds.’ Thankfully, WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes does not buy the negative talk. Instead, she heaped praises on the 23-year-old.

“Aren’t you taught to go follow your shots and get your rebound? If you don’t want her to ger her own rebounds, box her out,” Sheryl Swoopes said in the ‘Gils Arena Show’ podcast.
Thus, with things looking pretty on and off, fans cannot wait to see how Angel Reese performs in the coming days.
