The UCLA side set multiple records with their back-to-back conference championships. The Bruins were highly efficient, 63.5 per cent from the field and also had 34 assists on 40 field goals, setting a Big Ten Tournament record and season high. Six stars finished with double-digit scoring, which includes seniors Kiki Rice, Gabriela Jaquez and Lauren Betts, helping the team to record a 95-46 win.
While this dominant win was one of the reasons ESPN’s Holly Rowe called UCLA Bruins a strong challenger for UConn’s championship quest. While the 2025 finalist will also look for a similar feat, the night called for big celebrations, which cost the 22-year-old her championship medal.

Gabriela Jaquez Loses Her Championship Medal
Cori Close gets brutally honest about the best team she ever coached and calls her 2025-26 side a ‘complete’ roster. Their performance on the floor and their season record certainly back up the coach’s claims, and after hard work, they celebrated the win at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The California-born star also celebrated the win wildly, dancing on a live TikTok video and involving fans in the celebrations. But then she realized that she had lost her medal, as she wanted to take it out and use it in her dance move.

While the player and team celebrated their championship run, they also had another fun moment on the floor.
Gabriela Jaquez And UCLA Stars Surprise Fans With Their Dance Moves
The star had been one of the top performers on the court and looked to have fun during their final set of games. Their fun was a massive surprise for fans as a trio of seniors – Lauren Betts, Jaquez, and Charlisse Leger-Walker danced with the cheering squad.
Gabriela Jaquez said, “Lauren and I have been wanting to take a dance class in LA for a long time. We both grew up dancing, and we love to dance in the locker room and stuff. But this wasn’t just like a TikTok dance, it was the real thing. So when Charlisse came up with this idea, we were all-in.”
The idea started with a fun challenge from Leger-Walker, who shot a dance video with the forward for her YouTube channel and declared that they would perform the routine at the men’s basketball game on Tuesday if the video reached 1,000 likes.
After fans showed love for the dance, the trio took the floor and showed off their moves.
