The defending champion UConn Huskies are once again putting a step on the pedal and on an unbeaten run at the moment. Geno Auriemma named the Michigan Wolverines as UConn’s toughest 2025 opponent, but the side put up a clinical performance to win that game too. HC is happy with the team’s performance and might already be forgetting about his ‘favourite’ Paige Bueckers, who led the side to the record-setting NCAA Championship.
However, the 2025 rookie is unlikely to make that happen, as she was part of the team’s recent practice reunion. The veteran coach took a fun jab at the Wings’ superstar, calling her the ‘other one’ in front of the media, and even recalls her fun interaction with her college teammates.

Geno Auriemma Makes Fun Of Paige Bueckers
The practice reunion is part of UConn’s effort to reunite former players who are currently playing in the WNBA with the current group of players, helping to raise their game. While practicing with a player like PB, players certainly get to learn more; she even prepares them for on-court taunting and bashing in her own style.
As Geno mentioned the incident to the media, he said, “You will be surprised if I said that every time Paige scored in practice, she has to remind everybody ‘I am in the ‘W’ (WNBA) now.’ Like you can’t guard me now. Ok great. Hey did you guys know she is in ‘W’?”
While everyone had a great laugh about it, they asked about PB and Aliyah Edwards, who also attended the practice session. Auriemma mentioned that he was happy to see Aliyah at the session, but ‘the other one’ is ‘Dennis the Menace’.
