The UConn Huskies extended their dominance in the Big East, collecting their 32nd conference regular-season title. This takes their total conference trophy count to 62, and the side already has a record for 12 NCAAW titles. UConn’s recent dominance gets the seal of approval from ESPN’s Holly Rowe for pushing other basketball programs, highlighting the standard the Huskies are maintaining over the years.
While the Huskies fans are now used to a ‘winning culture’, even a single loss sends them into panic mode. The UConn men’s basketball team recently lost to Creighton, and fans targeted the program’s work ethic. Coach from the ‘w’ side stood by his counterpart and criticized the ‘dumba**’ fans.

Geno Auriemma With Strong Message To Fair-Weather Fans
In the post-game interview, the interviewer asked the UConn coach about appreciating the success of the UConn men’s & women’s teams this season.
The coach pointed out the nasty comments fans posted after the men’s team’s loss to Creighton. He said, “I think there is a feeling that’s expected, you read and hear some of the comments that our men lost to Creighton, and you wanna shake your head and go. If you’re a fan of [only] winning, move to another state and see how much you win over there.”

He pleaded with fans that it can’t be life and death every game, and added that real fans don’t do that; they understand there will be wins and losses. While the coach spoke about losses, the team is the league’s undefeated team. The side is even influencing other franchises, too.
Coach Shea Ralph Praises Geno Auriemma’s Influence
The Vanderbilt dropped to fifth but is still one of the top contenders for the Elite Eight or even the Final Four. Ironically, the coach of Vanderbilt is a former Huskies star and also an assistant coach who openly praised Auriemma for his impact on her coaching style.
In a recent podcast interview, the coach Ralph said, “A lot. Most of it. I got to be inside for half my life. I was a player there, and I was part of building what they have now. And then, as a coach, just to sustain that, seeing it from the other side. But what was cool about that whole experience for me was that it’s not magic. It’s not rocket science.”
