The Golden State Valkyries made history by qualifying for the playoffs in their very first season. Though they lost the first-round series in two games, the side certainly showed its intentions and grit in the inaugural season. They could use the free agency to strengthen their roster and fulfill owner Joe Lacob’s dream of a title in five years. And for that, how about adding A’ja Wilson to the mix?
The San Francisco team missed a big player around the rim, and the addition of the reigning MVP would be a massive upgrade. The city has a unique proposal that could entice the Aces’ superstar to make the move.

A’ja Wilson To Golden State Valkyries
Nearly every WNBA franchise has an NBA team in its city, but very few are title challengers in the next season. The Valkyries and the Warriors fit into this category, making them an excellent choice for the former South Carolina forward and her boyfriend, Bam Adebayo, to pursue their professional careers and spend more time together.
Reporting about the possibility, a NAB insider, Brett Seigel wrote, “Adebayo is a player the Warriors have been interested in over the last year, as we’ve reported at ClutchPoints, and he still holds a strong relationship with Butler…A’ja Wilson, a four-time WNBA MVP, will be a key free agent target for Lacob and the Valkyries, sources said. Why would this matter for the Warriors?”

A’ja Wilson would certainly uplift the Valks’ chances in the season with the player still in her prime and a young, talented core around her. Though it is hard to see the four-time MVP playing other than Becky Hammon, she would have her former assistant coach, Natalie Nakase, guiding her.
Nakase won the Coach of the Year award, showcasing her capabilities as a head coach in the 2025 season. The situation for Adebayo is different, though, as he recently signed an extension with the Het team.
Rumors hinted at a mega-deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo ahead of the recent trade deadline. But after failing to land him, the franchise could reunite Adebayo and Jimmy Butler, who shone for the Miami Heat a few seasons ago. But one possible deciding factor would be the duo taking their relationship further.
