Caitlin Clark is not just a big-name player. With her charisma, the Indiana Fever star is now a brand outside of the court. Visiting an NBA game recently, Clark received praise from the Los Angeles Lakers’ legend, LeBron James. However, despite all the limelight she is getting, she laid the foundation during her time in the NCAA.
Playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year set a lot of records. And as Clark is getting ready for a ‘special’ season in 2026, some of her records back in college are being equalled by the future stars. Playing for Notre Dame, Hannah Hidalgo shared a little piece of history with Clark.

Hannah Hidalgo Equals Caitlin Clark’s Record For A Historic Feat
March Madness turned out to be a happy outing for Notre Dame and Hidalgo. Facing off against the second-seeded Vanderbilt, Notre Dame put up a dominant showing. Following a 67-64 victory, the team cemented its place in the Elite Eight. However, amidst all the celebrations, the spotlight was solely on Hidalgo for her stellar performance.
In what was a historic night for her, Hidalgo racked up 31 points, 11 rebounds, 10 steals, and seven assists. Now then, such a performance not only steered her team clear of their opponents but also landed her among the elites of the game.

With a 30-plus point triple-double, Hidalgo has now joined Clark as only the second player in NCAA history to record such a feat. And that’s not all. One of the biggest highlights of her game was her strong defensive game. Playing in the first quarter against the Commodores, Hidalgo broke the NCAA single-season record for steals. She overtook Chastadie Barrs’ 192 steals back in 2019.

Meanwhile, as Hidalgo has equalled Clark’s record, the Indiana Fever star herself is getting quite the limelight with some interesting point of view from Luka Doncic.
Luka Doncic Is Impressed With Caitlin Clark’s Elite Hooping

Clark recently attended the NBA game between the Indiana Pacers and the Lakers. Unfortunately, while she was supporting the Pacers, the purple and gold brigade got the better of the Pacers. However, as the 24-year-old star donned the role of a photographer, Doncic expressed his honest feelings about the WNBA star.
“Oh, I did see her. Not really much (of a relationship with her), but I’m a big fan for sure. I watch a lot of games. Definitely her hooping is great to watch. For sure, gotta go to a game to see her,” said Doncic.
