The Chicago Sky has been dealing with a lot lately. In the past couple of years, the team has been performing in the worst manner possible. With the likes of Angel Reese in their ranks, the team has been lingering at the bottom of the table. Owing to their nightmarish performances, Reese’s exit interview sparked a trade rumor.
Thankfully, at the moment, with a change in head coach, Sky looks somewhat stable. But still, they will need to add some more depth and quality to the side. It was the same issue for which the Bayou Barbie lashed out at her own team at the end of the last season.
Despite Reese apologizing to her teammates later, the question still remains. Who will the Sky target in the next WNBA draft? Well, it looks like there is an exciting name that they can go after.

Who Should The Chicago Sky Target In The WNBA Draft?
The Chicago Sky front office has taken some eye-raising decisions this year. While they had a first-round pick in 2026, the front office decided to trade the same with the Minnesota Lynx for an eleventh pick. Surely, this means that the Sky will be missing out on the second-best lottery odds this year.
However, there is one glimmer of hope for the Chicago-based side. While securing Connecticut’s top pick, the Sky do have a lottery pick. And while the chances of winning the lottery are slim, the Sky will be praying for that to happen.

And if the stars truly align, then the franchise can surely go for Olivia Miles. This draft pick is likely to address a lot of woes for the Sky. Pairing somebody of Miles’ calibre with the likes of Reese and Kamilla Cardoso will make the Sky offence look extremely dangerous. Thus, with some hope still left, it is now up to chance whether the team will get their luck to favor or not. Meanwhile, with the preparations for the next season ongoing, the Sky will be hosting the All-Star in 2026.
Chicago Sky Was The Only Team To Bid For The 2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend
The reports have long confirmed that the Chicago Sky will be hosting the All-Star game in 2026. Such news surprised a lot of people, as the franchise already did the same back in 2022. However, it was later revealed by Front Office Sports’ Annie Costabile that the Sky were the only team to bid.

Reflecting on the opportunity to host such a gala event, Sky CEO, Adam Fox, said excitedly, “We’re excited to do it. It’s the goal to make Chicago the best place we’ve ever had a WNBA All-Star game. That’s the kind of healthy competition in this game that everyone is interested in.”
