When will the 2026 WNBA Draft happen? Now, that is a million-dollar question at the moment. As the WNBA has already announced the 2026 schedule, the CBA stalemate does not look like it will be resolved anytime soon.
As the players’ union has been fighting for equal pay for almost one and a half years now, the upcoming season is looking shrouded in dark clouds. But despite all the negatives, the likes of Grace Sullivan are hoping for the best.
Analysts expected this year’s WNBA draft to feature the best talent from the NCAA realm. With the teams looking to scout some future stars in the making, most of the plans have not come to fruition as yet. Thankfully, not letting the negativities affect her, Sullivan is pushing hard towards making a strong case for herself.

Will Grace Sullivan Make An Impact In The Upcoming WNBA Draft?
With everything said and done, there will be a lot of college stars making the headlines this year. For example, the likes of Olivia Miles will definitely be one of the top interests for the franchises. And this is exactly where the Antioch native is trying to fit in.
Last year, it was a dream come true as the young college prospect joined Northwestern University. Immediately, Sullivan started to show why she might be a probable star in the making. Currently, the Northwestern standout is averaging 22 points per game. While this is a team high, the Antioch native is also tied for 11th in the country.
“I thought it would be amazing. The family aspect helps a lot,” said Sullivan when she finally got her transfer to Northwestern University confirmed last year.

And building on from there, the No. 22 of Northwestern University is now garnering a lot of traction from a number of WNBA teams. Now, for her coach, her recent surge is not surprising at all.
Taking a peek backwards in time, Sullivan led the Carmel Catholics to their maiden state title in 2022. Speaking about what makes the Northwestern star unique, her coach had three words to describe her: “a quiet leader.”
Meanwhile, looking at her incredible performance, head coach Joseph McKeown looked utterly excited for the Antioch native.
Northwestern University Head Coach Is Super Excited To Welcome Grace Sullivan
Right from her high school days, the Northwestern standout was phenomenal. In her senior year at Carmel Catholic, she earned All-Conference honors. Next up, in her debut season for the Wildcats, the young NCAA prospect clinched 15 starts in 27 games.

Averaging 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, Sullivan shot an impressive 119-for-235 from the field. Welcoming her to the squad, head coach McKeown seemed more than happy to work with her.
“We are really excited to welcome Grace back to the Chicagoland area! She was an outstanding high school player in the area and gained valuable experience at Bucknell the past two years. We love her versatility, ability to run the floor and rebound. She will be a great addition to the ‘Cats both on and off the court!” said McKeown as per ‘nusports.com.’
Now, as she sets her eyes on a bigger dream, Sullivan knows that the road ahead will be tough. Yet, with a strong belief in her abilities and an iron-clad determination, the Antioch native is preparing herself for a big launch.
