One of the biggest topics of discussion at the moment is Project B. With the WNBA players rooting for equal pay and a better share of revenue, the leadership has been turning a deaf ear to them. And it is exactly at this point that the Saudi-backed Project B is making the waves.
After the WNBPA President Nneka Ogwumike signed up for the league, it was evident that more players would surely follow suit. And quite expectedly, it was Alyssa Thomas who switched her alliances to Project B.
However, while the league is looking to rope in more players, the overall picture is looking quite grim for the WNBA. And not only that, the Saudi-backed league can also pose some significant problems for the Unrivaled.
How Will Unrivaled Deal With The Project B Threat?
Now, according to reports, Project B has clarified that it does not want to get into a dispute with the WNBA. Thus, as the WNBA season is scheduled to end around September or October, Project B will commence in November.

On the contrary, as the league will be played from November to April, the players will be back in time for the WNBA season. Unfortunately, at the moment, the WNBA appears to be in a safe zone, making it quite difficult for Unrivaled to catch up.

The recent 3-on-3 league, Unrivaled, has been a huge hit since its inception. With significantly higher salaries than the WNBA, the league has attracted top players from the W. Sadly, the timing of Project B will clash with Unrivaled as the league runs from January to March.
Thus, at the end, it looks like it will come down to the players to choose which league they want to play in. Meanwhile, such a problem arising from the Project B announcement is not new. Angel McCoughtry recently posed a brutal question for the players.
With Unrivaled And WNBA Suffering, Angel McCoughtry Shares An Important Observation
Former All-Star McCoughtry recently shared her opinions about the Project B talks. With the league promising a seven-figure salary along with revenue-sharing perks, the former All-Star opined that will any athlete be willing to put in the grind and settle for less?

McCoughtry stated, “If you’re going to get paid five million, why put your body through playing in the WNBA?”
And she is not alone. Rachel DeMita, too, exposed a concerning WNBA reality. Thus, it is evident that things are going to be tough for the WNBA and Unrivaled in the coming days. Now, everyone waits to see how things unfold in the future.
