The Indiana Fever controlled the early phases of the first game of the 2025 playoffs against the Atlanta Dream, but Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, ensured a victory for the third-seeded team. The home crowd also played a vital role in the Dream’s win. But now the Indiana team will have similar advantage.
The Indiana Fever excel in impressive WNBA statistics despite Caitlin Clark’s season-ending absence, with fans turning in for the games. The team recorded a 13-9 run in the regular season and looks to get inspiration from the fans to level the series.
Indiana Fever With Home Court Advantage For First Time Since 2016
The Indiana Fever last qualified for the playoffs in 2024, but the Connecticut Sun swept away the side in the first two games at the Mohegan Sun Arena. For the 2025 playoff series, the WNBA returned to its 1-1-1 format, allowing both teams to host at least one game in the series.

“I remember a year ago in Connecticut, it was like, ‘Thank God we didn’t have to go back to Indiana,'” the Fever HC Stephanie White said.
“I think last year, our fans were robbed of getting to be part of the playoff experience. Watching the Pacers in the playoffs, the fans really do show out, and Gainbridge is loud and crazy and electric. To be able to host a game there and bring this to them, and have a really fun one, I think we’re really excited about it,” Lexie Hull mentioned ahead of Game 2 of the series.

Caitlin Clark Urges Indiana Fever Fans To Turn Up In Numbers
The Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena might be hosting its first Playoff game since 2016, but the Fever fanbase is ready to show support for its team. In another video shared by the franchise, Caitlin Clark urged the Fever fans to turn up in numbers and help the side level the series.
“Woo! First [home] playoff game since 2016! I need to see every single person in Indianapolis — whether you’re inside the arena or could be outside the arena, I don’t care — show up, get loud for my teammates! We need a dub, and then we’re taking it back to Atlanta. Let’s go!” Clark said in the video.
The Atlanta Dream leads the three-game series with a win at home, and the Fever needs to win on September 16 to keep their challenge alive.
