The Indiana Fever has shown some exceptional grit. Despite no update on their primary star, Caitlin Clark’s return, the Fever has been on a roll. Unfortunately, after enjoying quite the merry run, they saw their momentum halted by the Los Angeles Sparks. And immediately, rumours regarding a possible Damiris Dantas trade began doing the rounds.
The Fever lost to the Sparks with a score of 91-100. However, despite the loss, Clark’s team sits in fifth place in the WNBA ranking. They are also four games above the .500 mark. And looking to consolidate further, Fever is heavily rumored to be trading Dantas.
Will Damiris Dantas Find A New Home?
The trade deadline is approaching fast, and the teams are trying their best to add some quality to their ranks. For Fever, the primary aim is to find a suitable replacement for Clark. Until the 23-year-old returns, the team needs a solid performer.
At the moment, Damiris Dantas does not look like an ideal substitute. Playing against the Sparks, Dantas had quite a subdued game. She was on the court for merely six minutes. The 32-year-old contributed with a couple of points, an assist, and a rebound each.
Surely, it is for obvious reasons that speculations have surfaced regarding the 32-year-old. According to a report from USA Today, the Fever has yet to clarify its stance on Dantas. It also predicted that, despite getting negligible game time, the Fever are likely to play the game of patience. However, one cannot rule out the outside chances of a trade.

Meanwhile, clear communication could have easily prevented all this back and forth. Had Caitlin Clark been available, Fever might not have considered shuffling their roster. However, according to Stephanie White, Clark will need time to heal fully.

Indiana Fever Pushes For A Fully Fit Caitlin Clark Amidst Damiris Dantas Rumors
Caitlin Clark has played just 13 games this season, missing 16. Injuring herself for the third time, the Fever are now in no mood to gamble. Coach Stephanie White said the management would wait until the Iowa native was fully fit.
“She is day-to-day right now. We are really not putting a timetable on it. Going through the rehab process, and then we want to reintegrate her from the strength and conditioning standpoint. And then taking her to the basketball activities. We are taking it one day at a time,” White said on NBA TV (Via X/kenswift).

Thus, things are looking a bit complicated with the face of the WNBA. With rumors swirling around a Damiris Dantas trade, more headlines are sure to come. And fans cannot wait to see what’s next for Dantas, Clark, and the Fever.
