The 2026 schedule declaration was one of the most shocking events for many, especially given that the CBA discussion was still incomplete. But now that every team has its game dates, the team will be ready with its plans for the game days. The Indiana Fever even started an offer for single-game tickets.
Keeping the commercials’ part aside, coaches and players will be looking at the schedules with a different angle, checking out their difficult opponents’ dates and also key dates like All-Star games, Commissioner’s Cup games, and also rivalry game dates. As for the Indiana team, they have one of the toughest schedules in terms of lack of rest.

Indiana Fever With Toughest 2026 WNBA Schedule
In the 2025 season, Satou Sabally thrashed the league for the tight schedules following the Mercury’s challenging last phase of the season. The league will start early this season, on May 9, and despite having two new teams, every team will have 44 games.
As for Caitlin Clark and Co., the side will have back-to-back games on three occasions, the most in the 2026 season league. The Las Vegas Aces, Golden State Valkyries, and New York Liberty will also face a similar situation this season. Looking at the injuries the Fever side had last season, the coach would have to take care of the star players in such back-to-back games.

Interestingly, it’s not only the Fever fan base or front office looking at the franchise’s schedule, but the opposing teams are also looking ahead for a match-up against the 2025 semifinalists.
Opposing Teams Circling Indiana Fever Games
Stephanie White didn’t win the coach of the year award, but her team’s performances certainly won over the WNBA fanbase with their resilient plays. Although the 2026 team would be different, many expect to see the Fever core together back on the floor, which is making them a contender once again.
So when the Toronto Tempo coach, Sandy Brondello, answered a question about teams she is excited about, she named her former teams and the Fever side.
“Number one – Phoenix for obvious reasons… I coached there. I won a championship there for eight years, so it’s always a fun city to visit. (Second) New York… I just wanted to see the fans again. It’s really a great arena to play in. And then I have Indiana because everyone loves to play against Caitlin Clark, and I think they’ve got such a big following in this league, too,” Brondello said.

The Fever team would also be looking ahead to matchups with the challenging teams, importantly, when the team has constantly shown improved win percentages in the last four seasons.
