Injuries derailed the Indiana Fever’s 2025 WNBA season. With Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham already out for the season, the franchise now has two more players declared unfit to play for the remainder of the season – Caitlin Clark and Chloe Bibby. The franchise, which used to add players midway through the season, confirmed the signing of Bree Hall for the rest of the season.
Bree Hall was the 20th pick by the Fever in the 2025 WNBA draft, but the franchise waived her after the training camp. She will be available for a game against the Chicago Sky on September 5.
Indiana Fever Signs Bree Hall For Rest Of The Season
Stephanie White talked about the team’s process of selecting players for the roster, but she wouldn’t have thought the amount of work they needed to put into the 2025 season. With multiple injuries forcing the team to seek outside help, five players out for the season, they are well short of permissible roster spots.

Chloe Bibby joined the Fever on July 25 via a seven-day contract and signed a rest of the season contract later, but was out due to injury. The medical staff worked hard to get her fit, but the reports showed insufficient progress.
“Not so much a setback, it’s just, I think with all the travel and everything, it just swelled up and swelled up so much that it’s caused some issues,” White told the media about Bibby’s injury update.
To counter her absence, the 2021 championship side added one of their draft pick, Bree Hall, to the lineup and signed her on the rest-of-season hardship contract. It is important to note that players on the hardship contract are not eligible to play in the playoffs, but a rest-of-season hardship contract allows teams to play them in the postseason.

Now with Hall in the lineup, the team has four players on hardship contracts: Hall, Odyssey Sims, Aerial Powers and Shey Peddy. Odessey Sims recently signed for the rest-of the season, making her eligible for the playoffs.
Bree Hall Gets Major Boost In Her Career
Joining the team so late would be a major risk for the rookie, but it could also be a huge opportunity to prove her worth. Since the Fever front office waived her, she played for the Valkyries on hardship contracts and scored just three points in a game against the Sun.
But joining the Indiana Fever, she will get more game time and a chance to showcase her capabilities. If she impacts a postseason game or hits a game-winner to put her team in the playoffs, she will be an instant hit within the Fever fanbase and even attract the eyeballs of other teams. Considering the free agency period and her contract valuation, she could be an attractive prospect for many teams.
