There is a sense of positivity in the LA Sparks right now. The team formed with veteran guard and former champion Kelsey Plum at the center is finally meeting expectations. Even though they are in 10th place, the five-game winning run gives them a glimmer of hope for the postseason. And there is another positive sign: Cameron Brink’s return is on the cards.
The coach and player discussed her rehab progress at length. Lynne Roberts even hinted at a possible return earlier than expected, but didn’t specify the date. With many videos and photos of the 2024 rookies’ workout making rounds online, fans wonder whether she will play against the Las Vegas Aces on Monday.
Chances of Cameron Brink Playing Against The Las Vegas Aces
While the three-time champions have recently won games behind their offensive flair, the side is struggling defensively. The franchise waited for their 2024 top pick to completely recover and had been patient with the lengthy process. This ensures the player’s safety and provides a healthy player to compete for the team.

On July 28, she received clearance to play basketball following the medical checkups and training drills she performed. She already worked with the coaching staff in practicing her skills and shooting. As for her availability, Brink is expected to make her season debut against the Las Vegas Aces on July 28.
The player might not start the game and will even be on time restrictions, but fans will be able to see her in action after a 13-month-long injury break. The 23-year-old star underwent a painful recovery process to prepare for the W again.
Cameron Brink’s Lengthy Recovery Process
Brink suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in her left knee on June 18, 2024, during a game against the Connecticut Sun. This injury sidelined her for over a year, forcing her to miss the rest of the 2024 WNBA season. Following the injury, the former Stanford forward underwent ACL reconstruction surgery in July 2024.

Her recovery has been lengthy, involving physical therapy, strength training, and regaining full mobility. She has also been working on building muscle mass and regaining strength to support the knee. With the physical strength, the star focused on mental preparation, journaling, and staying positive throughout the process.
While most ACL reconstructions require around 9 months of healing and rehabilitation, Brink’s recovery took longer due to the involvement of the meniscus. But now, with a ‘clear to play’ status, the forward will return to her form to impact the court. Her return is highly anticipated and expected to significantly boost the Sparks as they aim for a playoff spot. Her defensive skills, in particular, are expected to be a major asset to the team.
