Jackie Young Surpassed Kelsey Plum’s Franchise Record
A’ja Wilson made history in the game against the Connecticut Sun, becoming the first WNBA player to record a 30-20 stat line with 32 points and 20 rebounds. But it was not a big night for only one Aces’ star.
Jackie Young also made history with her elite gameplay against the SunSun. The 2019 Rookie played for 32 minutes and finished the game with 21 points, six assists, four rebounds, and one steal. With this, she took her assist tally to 950, surpassing Kelsey Plum’s 946 total for the third spot. Plum herself has had a successful stint with the LA Sparks and has set a few individual records.

Becky Hammon leads the total assists chart for the franchise with 1133 assists. Chesley Grey stands in second position and has 971 assists. Wilson is another active player on the list with 585 assists. She occupies sixth place in the chart.
The Las Vegas Aces dominated the game from start to finish. Alongside standout performances from Jackie Yong and A’ja Wilson, Jewell Lloyd and Dana Evans contributed a combined 22 points. The Aces controlled the paint, out-rebounding the Connecticut Sun 40-23 and scoring 23 second-chance points. With this victory, Las Vegas solidified its sixth-place standing in the league, holding a two-game lead over the seventh-placed Seattle Storm.

Jackie Young Proving To Be Key Factor In Las Vegas Aces’ Title Chase
The 27-year-old star was a member of the Aces’ 2023 and 2024 championship run. She was the starting guard for the side, but played a second-fiddle role behind Kelsey Plum. Taking a more active role since Plum’s departure, the former Notre Dame player started to rack up the assists and points.

She is currently the team’s second-leading scorer (17 points per game) and assists leader, along with Chelsea Grey. She also contributed heavily on the defensive end, with 1.3 steals and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Apart from the franchise’s leading scorer, Young has the best shooting efficiency for the Aces. HC Hammon praises the young star as an important player on the roster for their championship chase.
