Sophie Cunningham might be sidelined for the rest of the season due to her MCL injury. But that is not stopping the spotlight from shining on her, albeit in a negative way. Only recently, Cunningham shared how stressful it is watching games from the sidelines. And as she is nursing her injury, the Indiana Fever star is also keeping up with her fashion game. And this, according to Jason Whitlock, is not something appreciable.
Cunningham has been a favorite of the Fever fans. Outside of her aggressive on-court display, the 29-year-old also likes to show off her fashion sense by uploading pictures in stylish clothings. Unfortunately, this is something that did not sit well with Whitlock.
Jason Whitlock Asks Sophie Cunningham To ‘Put Some Clothes On’
Whitlock recently appeared on the latest episode of his ‘Fearless’ podcast. Speaking on a host of topics, the podcast host stumbled upon the fact that the likes of Cunningham were not able to properly handle the spotlight. Criticizing Cunningham for her fashion choices, Whitlock asked her not to pose in bikinis every time she uploaded a photo or a video.

“None of these women know how to handle the spotlight. Sophie Cunningham, gorgeous. Put some clothes on, Sophie. Quit putting out videos of you in bikinis every time you turn around. Show a little mid-west class, and I like you, but damn it, put some clothes on from time to time,” said Whitlock.
The renowned podcast host also expressed his displeasure with how Caitlin Clark has had repeated arguments with the officials. Whitlock further claimed that he would not watch WNBA again if the players did indeed go for a work stoppage. Meanwhile, facing criticisms is not something that is new for Cunningham. Skip Bayless recently accused Cunningham of riding on Clark’s fame. But the 29-year-old did not keep quiet. Instead, she swiftly hit back at Bayless.

Sophie Cunningham Calls Skip Bayless A ‘Clout Chaser’
Bayless criticized the Fever star, stating that Cunningham is using Clark’s image to grow her popularity. Bayless stated that for so many years, the 29-year-old was a less popular entity. However, the moment she joined the Fever squad, Cunningham made a close bond with the 2024 Rookie of the Year. Now then, hearing all these complaints, the Fever guard lashed out at the sports analyst. Responding to the accusations, Cunningham termed Bayless a ‘clout chaser.’

“Dude, Skip, who’s the clout chaser? You’re literally using my name as your headline so people can click on it. I’m just kind of in my lane and someone sent it to me, and I was like, ‘What is this?’ He’s calling me a clout chaser, dude, you’re the one who has my name plastered all over your YouTube that had 36 views, like get out of here,” said Cunningham.
Surely, this incident shows that Cunningham is not the one to back off. Thus, with Jason Whitlock criticizing, it might just be a matter of time until she hits back.
