With just over seven days left for the fourth deadline in the ongoing CBA discussions, neither the WNBA nor the WNBPA is ready to take a big cut in their original demands. While the league projected losses over the players’ demands, the PA countered the same with their calculations. Amid these comments and criticism, the season is actually facing uncertainty.
Fans even labeled the WNBPA ‘greedy’ for their recent demands. Analyst Jason Whitlock, though, went a step further and even spoke about two sides of the players’ association in his recent analysis.

Jason Whitlock’s Bold Comments On WNBA CBA Talks
The sports columnist is famous for his sharp and controversial takes. He slammed the Indiana Fever coach for the constant injuries to Caitlin Clark and also criticized her rotation tactics. Now, in the CBA talks, the 58-year-old also used some harsh words and even racial differentiation.
In his recent video post, he said, “The White girls are ready to end this whole deal and sign the deal. They don’t want to, they don’t want to strike. The Black girls are still holding out and they’re oppressed and they want to play this to the bust.”

“They’ve done an amazing job. Some of these women are going to get paid a million dollars and for a 40 game, 44 game season that no one watches, they’re going to be vastly overpaid. They’re flying private to these games in a league that it doesn’t really matter,” Whitlock added.

The analysts even singled out Natah Cloud for her blunt and critical words towards the WNBA’s offer. He concluded that it’s not about making money or fair treatment, but it’s about staying on message. He even predicted that the current situation hints at the players blowing the opportunity for a good CBA deal.
WNBA CBA Discussions Speed Up With Deadline Date Approaching
The league put forward March 10 as the deadline for the CBA talks to meet the start of the season date. While the WNBPA sent their counter-proposal, the league responded to their offer within 48 hours.

In the new offer, the league is fast-tracking the max contract feasibility for the rookie stars and also improving the housing offer. Amid this, the new stumbling block in the discussions could be the rift between the players.
According to an ESPN report, Breanna Stewart and Kelsey Plum wrote a letter to WNBA union leadership regarding CBA talks, pointing out miscommunications.
