Jewell Loyd Details How She Redeemed Herself With The Las Vegas Aces
Loyd earned the nickname ‘Kiss of Death’ this season for her impeccable performance off the bench. However, all of this seemed like a far-fetched idea for the Aces’ star. Playing for the Seattle Storm, Loyd won almost everything for the team. Surprisingly, after being with the team for a decade, a shocking 2024 season led the WNBA star to request a trade. And this was the turning point of her career. Coming to the Aces squad, coach Becky Hammon saw the potential in her and transformed her into a star player.

Commenting on her transformation journey, Loyd said, “I definitely cried in that moment. Becky was definitely the person who believed in me from the start. I was kind of written off, but that’s how I ended up in the promised land. So, yeah. At the start of everything, I told my agent, ‘Just get me out. I’ll find a way. Physically, mentally, emotionally, it cannot be worse.”
Surely, things are looking pretty rosy for Loyd. Now, as the next season approaches, she will strive to maintain the good work.
