Injuries are becoming a source of frustration in the WNBA. Over the course of this season, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have suffered some serious injury setbacks. While the teams are suffering due to the absence of their star players, the list seems to be expanding. The latest addition to the list is Jordin Canada.
Squaring off against the Phoenix Mercury, the Atlanta Dream won 74-66. Unfortunately, much of their celebrations were muted as Canada suffered a brutal fall. And to further escalate fan tensions, the 30-year-old had to be assisted off the court.
Jordin Canada Suffers Injury Scare Against The Phoenix Mercury
The PHX Arena witnessed a sad moment on Sunday. Canada, which looked quite impressive throughout the game, had an unfortunate moment during the third. Attempting a drive to the rim, the 30-year-old suddenly stopped in her tracks.
It looked like Canada had tweaked her leg and was grimacing in pain. As a result, she missed the layup and immediately started to hop around. While she went down, slow-motion replays showed her right leg getting slightly bent on impact.

Help soon arrived for the Dream star. What happened next was not good news for the team. Canada had to be carried off the court, which meant she could not put any weight on her injured right knee. The team ruled her out of the game soon after a thorough diagnosis.
However, further details about her injury have not been provided yet. The 30-year-old had 13 points and a couple of rebounds to her name when the tragedy happened. Such an injury could be brutal to the Dream’s playoff hopes, especially since Naz Hillmon has called out the inconsistency.

Jordin Canada’s Unavailability Might Make Naz Hillmon’s Concern Come True
Canada has been having quite a decent season so far. She averaged 11.9 points along with 3.6 rebounds per game. However, her suspected absence due to injury might further bring back the inconsistency issue. Following a loss against the Golden State Valkyries in late July, Naz Hillmon called out the team’s inconsistent performance.
“We can’t expect to win a game that we don’t…come to play [in] for three quarters. There were spurts, but, you know, if we talk about being a top team in this league, you can’t take three quarters off and expect to win in the fourth,” Hillmon said.

Surely, she had a point. Just before the loss, the team triumphed over the Phoenix Suns and the Minnesota Lynx. Thus, with Jordin Canada suffering an injury, fans are concerned about how the Dream will fare in the future.
