Oftentimes, life does not go according to plan. And one experiences the most unexpected outcomes possible. Unfortunately for Julie Vanloo, that was exactly what she had to go through a month back. Earlier in July, Vanloo was waived by the Golden State Valkyries.
And this was a shocker for the fans as well as Vanloo herself. With almost a month gone now, the 32-year-old is still processing her emotions. Soon after her waiver, she joined the Los Angeles Sparks. And ahead of her return to Ballhala, the 32-year-old opened up her heart.
Julie Vanloo Happy To Be With The Sparks
The Los Angeles Sparks will face the Valkyries at their home. And this will mark the first time Vanloo will step on Ballhala after her waiver. Indeed, there must be a gush of emotions flowing for the WNBA veteran. However, the 32-year-old was not in the mood to let her emotions get the better of her.
Vanloo stated that it was indeed a special feeling for her to come back to Balhala. She also pointed out that there were a lot of people in San Francisco with whom she was close. Thus, it was pretty normal for her to feel significantly excited about her homecoming.
“It’s definitely special,” Vanloo said. “I don’t know, it’s like a bit of excitement, a bit anxious, it’s so many emotions together. A lot of people I love are here, especially the Valkyries fans, so I’m excited to be back here.”

“I’m at peace with it. At the end of the day, it’s a business and I respect that. I’m very happy to be in LA so I’m definitely at peace but I’m an emotional person so it’s touching to be back.” pic.twitter.com/K8zN1HF8On
Now, going back to what transpired, it was a bizarre turn of events. Vanloo had created quite a buzz with her flashy style of play. Unfortunately, as she left to represent Belgium in EuroBasket, Vanloo was shocked to find herself waived from the team. And she did not shy away from letting her feelings go public.

Julie Vanloo Emotionally Responded To Her Waiver
Vanloo skipped the team celebration in EuroBasket. The reason? Well, she wanted to return to the Golden State Valkyries’ team as soon as possible. But in the most heartbreaking manner, Vanloo received the bad news upon her arrival at the airport.

Putting her emotions into words, the 32-year-old wrote on Instagram, “After traveling 18 hours back to the Bay, I missed the fan ceremony and the chance to share that special medal moment with my family and friends. I got back to San Fran as soon as I could. I left the party in the middle of the night after the game… To hear 1 hour upon arrival: we have to waive you.”
Surely, this left a sour taste in her mouth. However, playing with resilience with the Sparks, Vanloo has been on a roll. And now, fans cannot wait to see how things pan out for the 32-year-old.
