The Las Vegas Aces won the championship in style, leaving no opening for the Phoenix Mercury to make a comeback. The Aces’ celebration took over the PHX Arena as cameras caught A’ja Wilson’s tearful hug with boyfriend Bam Adebayo and the Vegas players congratulating their teammates. Kahleah Copper was a heartbroken and distant observer of all this.
But in the press conference, the veteran forward had a strong message for her teammates – already making plans for the future.
Kahleah Copper With Strong Message For Her Teammates
Even though it was a clean sweep win for the Las Vegas Aces, Nate Tibbetts’ team put in efforts to get back into the games, especially with Game 1 and Game 3, where the side matched the champions on many fronts and still lost. The former Rutgers star was at the heart of each one of the Mercury’s efforts and had a special message for her teammates.

“I wanted us to feel it, I wanted us to hear the celebrations. I want us to really feel the moment, feel the hurt, and hear what the celebration was about and to let it just fuel us for the future,” the 2021 champion player said.

The side tried its best till the final whistle, where the former Finals MVP was leading from the front with 30 points. During a break time, Copper answered a few questions from ESPN’s Holly Rowe about the team’s third-quarter push.
Answering Rowe’s question on the fightback, “I think the refs aren’t doing a good job tonight. I’m sorry. But we’re just trying to keep our heads. Keep our heads and just try to chip away,” Copper said.
The Mercury won three titles while the Aces matched the number in the last four seasons. Nate Tibbetts will look to go one step ahead and clinch the title.
