When it rains, it pours. The Minnesota Lynx made it happen at the Michelob ULTRA Arena, dropping three-pointers after three-pointers. At the front of it was Kayla McBride with eight long-range shots.
It was an offensive masterclass by the Lynx team, who were in complete control of the game from the start. The former Notre Dame forward also set a league record with her flawless game.
Kayla McBride Set WNBA Record During Aces vs. Lynx Game
The Minnesota Lynx continued their impressive run in the league. Setting themselves apart from the rest, the team registered a 23-5 record entering the game against the struggling Aces. They dominated the game right from the start and took a commanding 26-point lead at the half.
The 33-year-old forward drained eight three-pointers from eight attempts in the first half, becoming the only player to score eight three-pointers with 100% accuracy in a half.
Interestingly, the star didn’t score any free throws in the whole game or even a three-pointer in the second half (missed two), finishing the game with 24 points. The sharpshooter played in just 23 minutes and still finished as the top scorer in the game.
The side also set a franchise record with 17 three-pointers in the game and a massive 53-point victory. This is the most point differential recorded by an away team in the ‘W’. Jessica Shepard and Napheesa Collier supported well with 18 points each. A’ja Wilson had a rough night and ended the night with just 14 points.

Kayla McBride Provide Perfect Support To Napheesa Collier
Losing the 2024 WNBA Finals series in the closing moments was a big shock to the Minnesota franchise. The team had been on a perfect run, with the defensive player of the season, Napheesa Collier, leading the way.

In the 2025 season, the star continued her form and put the team on her back at the start of the campaign. McBride joined in from the fifth game of the season following a break due to personal reasons. Since then, starting in all 25 games, she has been the team’s second-highest scorer with a 15-point average.
She has also been effective at the defensive end with 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 steals. With Collier out injured, it onus will be on the veteran forward to deliver in the upcoming games. But with a performance against the Aces, she looks ready to step up.
