The Indiana Fever will host the Atlanta Dream for Game Two of the 2025 first round. The Fever team embraces home advantage in the playoffs for the first time since 2016. The star guard, Kelsey Mitchell, is looking to take advantage of the same.
Ahead of the game, the superstar guard is looking to push her team to the postseason’s second round. She spoke about her preparation for the game.
Kelsey Mitchell Finds Confidence Playing At Home
The Indiana Fever had a struggling period in the regular season with a number of injured players out of the season. During that phase, the 29-year-old guard led the offensive gameplay of the side. WNBA legend Tamika Catchings endorses Kelsey Mitchell for MVP and All-WNBA team honors.

She is once again the key player for the team as the side looks to challenge the title contenders for the championship. But after losing the opening game of the postseason, the team needs to win next game to stay competitive in the series.
“I think it gives ourselves a chance to stay in the hunt of things. We’re really trying to figure out a way to come back (to Atlanta for Game 3). We would like to play again, so we’re gonna have to take the necessary steps to be at our best. I would like to think that being back at home can kind of give us a sense of comfort, so hopefully we could use it for what it’s worth and not take it for granted,” said Mitchell.

Kelsey Mitchell To Play Key Role In Indiana Fever’s Championship Push
With multiple players out injured, the shorthanded Indiana Fever depend on the former Ohio State guard. In the first game, she was the team’s top scorer with 27 points, with the least help from her teammates on the night. That has been the situation for a season as the shooting guard took care of the offensive load.
In Caitlin Clark’s absence, her leadership and production became even more vital for the team’s late-season push. Importantly, the three-time All-Star was the most consistent player during that run. Her plays enabled the side to finish sixth in the league. Earning the AP All-WNBA First Team selection, Mitchell earned a spot among the elite players of the 2025 season.
