The WNBA and WNBPA agreed on Status Quo operations, halting any player transactions or signings before the CBA Confirmations. While teams see this as a problem, players see it as an opportunity to market themselves better through stronger performances in the leagues they play in during the offseason. Kelsey Mitchell is one such player who is already high on every franchise’s wish-list.
The gifted guard spent seven seasons with the Indiana Fever, and the franchise is looking at Mitchell as its priority in the offseason. While she had been a very loyal partner to the front office, in a recent interview, she spoke about her time with the Fever franchise so far.

Kelsey Mitchell Opens Up On Her Indiana Fever Loyalty
Eight seasons, 277 games, 4820 points, and a shot at the MVP honor. While these stats highlight Mitchell’s time with the Indiana Fever, she certainly had a much deeper impact on the team, serving as the league’s most loyal star. Appearing on Aari McDonald’s Unfiltered podcast, she spoke about the cost of this loyalty.
“When it was bad, I kind of just let it play out really because, like I said, when you don’t really have nobody calling you or knocking on your door anyway, I mean, what else you going to do? So, it was a bittersweet feeling because I think being loyal has a cost, and we all know that. You know, being loyal isn’t always ideal, but I think, like when I think back on it, it was worth it,” Mitchell said.

Fans would hope to see her back in the Fever colors, not just for her 2025 season performance, but as a player of her quality and dedication deserves to lift a trophy with the franchise she stayed with through thick and thin.

While she proved herself in the WNBA arenas, this offseason, she was part of the Unrivaled roster, also playing for the Hive BC. Incidentally, the Fever guard strikes fear in her opponents despite her team’s poor performance.
Kelsey Mitchell Terrorizing The Unrivaled Courts
Depending on the results so far, the Hive BC might not see the second phase of the season, the playoffs. They are even ranking low in the Unrivaled power rankings. But that doesn’t put a bad light on KM, who had been sensational for the side once she got hold of the 3-on-3 format and even nailed a couple of game winners for the team, which included her breakout 24-point performance leading Hive BC to its first Unrivaled win over defending champions Rose BC.
There is one particular tournament in the league, though, where she is highly qualified to claim the title – 1-on-1 games. The player is in Pod A with many other talented guards, one of whom is Courtney Williams, who openly mentioned that she doesn’t want to face the 29-year-old.
The player is no doubt one of the title challengers and will look to leave her mark on the season, which might even boost her WNBA valuation.
